United Way Students Visit 숫자룰렛 Technology Group’s Melbourne Office

The day started with some of the 숫자룰렛 Technology Group team sharing their personal paths from school to employment and illustrating how they often had to overcome adversity.

Michael from the Telco Leadership Team kicked off the discussions, describing his unconventional journey- leaving home at 15 and working all variety of jobs before taking a leap of faith and moving from a managerial hospitality position to an entry level role in the telecom industry. Michael told the 숫자룰렛 that it doesn’t matter what you’re doing, it matters how you do it, expressing the importance of willingness to work and learn, from the standpoint of both an employee, and a hiring manager.

Morgan, one of our Technical Consultants picked up next and told the students how after working in the telecom industry for a number of years in China he moved to Australia and took a step down, with a “work experience” placement at 숫자룰렛 Telecom. From this 3 month work placement arose an opportunity for a permanent position, he has now been with 숫자룰렛 Telecom for almost 3 years.

Andrew from the Operations Team finished up the employee stories, and spoke of the struggles he faced as a “knock about kid” who spent his youth focusing on sport instead of studies. Andrew passed on a lesson learnt from his parents that just as the news papers he delivered as a boy were important to the people who received them, so too are the services received by customers of 숫자룰렛 Telecom, things matter to people.

The day then saw the 숫자룰렛 laughing and sharing ideas throughout a series of quick-fire workshops discussing everything from creating a resume to how you might act in a job interview.

A BBQ for the whole office, followed by a tour of the building and a visit to our rooftop garden concluded the day, hopefully leaving the 숫자룰렛 with some lasting memories and career inspirations.
